PUKEMOKEMOKE WORKING BEE
19th SEPTEMBER 1pm
A reminder that the September working bee at Pukemokemoke will go ahead at 1pm as usual. I will be away but you will be in good hands with Harpal, Fred and Daniel likely to be there. Work will include some planting up the hill but mainly working on privet regrowth. A couple of backpack sprayers would be useful and Bob if you had your drench gun available for glyphosate that would be very useful. A slasher and bush knife for cutting a nick in larger privet would also be useful as would a couple of loppers.
Have a great day, Warwick

OCTOBER IS SAVE KIWI MONTH
and we'd love you to get involved by joining in with the Great Kiwi Morning Tea to raise funds to protect kiwi.
Why kiwi need your help
In unmanaged areas, we are losing up to three kiwi every single day. If we did nothing, they could be gone from the wild within a couple of generations. That means that by the time our children become grandparents, they could be telling their grandchildren stories about kiwi that begin 'Once upon a time...' but do not end happily ever after.
We need to make sure that we're doing what we can right now to ensure that the kiwi that we have left survive. And more than that, we need to create an environment where they can thrive.
The good news is that there are people working hard up and down the country to make this happen. They just need our help to keep going.
What's the Great Kiwi Morning Tea?
We're asking New Zealanders to get together on Friday 16th October and hold a Great Kiwi Morning Tea to raise funds for kiwi. We'd love you to get involved. You could organise an event for friends and family, or hold a morning tea at work. We're also asking schools to hold a morning tea so if you're involved with any schools, please speak to them about taking part too!
Of course, we understand that Friday 16th may not work for everyone so if another date works better for you, that's fine. And if you'd rather organise a Saturday afternoon barbeque, an evening cocktail party or another type of fundraising event instead of a morning tea, that's absolutely fine too.
The most important thing is to get involved if you can and help raise money to protect our precious national icon.
Fundraise and win a fantastic Nestlé Hamper!
We've got a fantastic hamper, kindly donated by Nestlé, to give away to our top fundraiser so make sure you promote your event well and encourage people to be as generous as they can.
We also have a Nestlé hamper to give away for the best picture of a Great Kiwi Morning Tea. So, get creative and have fun!
Register now! https://www.kiwisforkiwi.org/greatkiwimorningtea/register/
All you need to do is fill in the form online to register, download your fundraising resources materials from the website and get planning.
If you have any questions along the way, please don't hesitate to contact me, either at sarah@kiwisforkiwi.org or on 09 307 4843.
Thank you so much for your support.
Best regards, Sarah
