ENDERLEYSTRONG SHOWCASE and BBQ Friday 30th October 3.30
Over the last little while, Enderley Park cannot seem to catch a break with the break ins! So as a studio we are going to celebrate with a (very short notice) showcase
We are looking at smashing out some projects this week with a positive messages like "Whanau look after everyone - let's look after our community #enderleystrong"
Our aim is to really express "What can we do", and "It's our community, so we need to be responsible" through the best way we know how, Media making !!
I dont think it is going to affect those who are doing the breaking in so much, but if we can affect the kids who know them and who might be able to influence them, that is a huge result. Community transformation, one small bit at a time. Boom!
FRIENDS OF WAIWHAKAREKE
Our next working bee is:
Saturday 31 October 2015 - We will be weeding and /or releasing plants. The weeding will involve walking through previous plantings and pulling out seedling such as blackberry and gorse.
9am - midday
Meet in the car park on Brymer Road opposite the zoo.
Best to bring gloves and wear gumboots in case we're working in wet areas. And most importantly morning tea.
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning. Much appreciated

GREEN FINGERS AND OR ENTHUSIASM NEEDED
Do you have green fingers or are you a novice who would you like to get involved in gardening?
Hamilton Homeless Trust needs your help to establish a community garden. We are looking for volunteers to develop a productive garden that exemplifies sustainable food production. As well as growing produce to be used at our food servings, we desire our garden to be an educational and therapeutic retreat to volunteers and patrons, as connecting with nature is proven to be positive for mental health and well-being.
We will be holding a planting day to start to transform a piece of grassy land into a bountiful vegetable garden on Sunday 1 November from 10 and until 2pm. We already have some raised beds ready and seedling coming along in trays which will be ready for planting out. It will also be a great opportunity for like-minded people to meet one another over a good cause. Please bring a spade, trowel or other equipment if you have (we will have some spares). If you can bring a plate for a shared lunch it would be great - it won’t be all work; this is a social event too!
Previous gardening experience is not required!
The land is on Kaipaki Road in Ohaupo so a short drive out of Hamilton. For that reason it would be good if we could coordinate car-sharing on the day.
If you think that you could spare some time to get involved please contact Camilla in 0223410643 or email hamiltonhomelesstrust@gmail.com
