HAMILTON ORGANIC GARDENERS Sunday the 12th July
The next HOGs meeting is on Sunday the 12th July from 2 - 4pm in Ham East. Please RSVP to Saskia by 10th July: saskia.schuitemaker@gmail.com
• We will be sharing plants and useful garden items. If you're after something specific or have some thing you'd like to add to the table then please email us and I'll circulate the table again so people know what's available. Otherwise, bring along whatever extras you'd like to.
• Plus, sharing ideas for meetings/visits: e.g. rainwater systems, liquid fertilisers, a working bee to make a garden bed using the sheet method Dee talked about, this is an excellent time of year to do that so it will be ready for spring. Anyone interested in having a garden made at their place? Come along and discuss.
• Plus, shared afternoon tea :)

RAW MILK PETITION
Marea Smith
WAPF Hamilton Chapter Leader.
Most of you will be aware that the a raw milk legislation change will come into force on March 1, 2016.
Raw milk will still be able to be sold from the farm gate and there will now be no limit to the number of litres that can be purchased. It is good news that home delivery will now be allowed, however, collection from a designated location will now explicitly be forbidden.
Many of you are already accessing your prized raw milk this way and this new legislation is effectively harder on the urban consumer than the previous policy. I believe this will have the effect of taking milk deliveries underground making criminals of good citizens. Home deliveries only could increase both the cost of raw milk and the risks from unsafe storage.
I ask that all of you sign the petition to allow consumers the option to pick up raw milk from a collection point
