Door Knocking for Our Future - it's the least we can do!

The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP21, will be held in Paris from November 30 to December 11.  In recognition of how critical this event is for the future, Waikato Climate Action has organised a door knocking campaign to let people know how they can engage with this issue.  Waikato Climate Acion also has events planned like the Waikato People’s Climate March (29th of Nov), banner making workshops and The Greatest Climate Show on Earth (see below). WCA has a petition people can sign or they can offer to volunteer.

The door knocking campaign is this Saturday afternoon.  Door knockers will have training and will work in pairs supported by trained climate activists. You don’t need to have any expertise; you just need to care about the future of the planet and its people. If you are able to help, send a text to Julie 021 042 2812 to say you can come and turn up at The Meteor Theatre at the bottom of Victoria St at 1.00pm this Saturday 17 October. Your help is urgently needed. If you can spare a few hours, please come.

The Greatest Climate Show on Earth - an event not to miss!

There is growing awareness and concern about climate change and how it will affect our various local communities. There is a feeling that perhaps we as individuals and groups could be doing something about it but what would that something be?  Should we be encouraging our government to make a stronger commitment in Paris later this year? What difference will it make?

It’s hard to get information that is understandable and relevant to us in New Zealand and the Waikato. To answer some of these questions we present -

The Greatest Climate Show on Earth
